GAME RULES:
The goal of the game is to get rid of all the cards in your hand. To achieve this, you and your opponent will take turns either attacking or defending.
0. PREPARATION
The deck you will be playing with contains 36 cards. Each card has 1 of a total of 4 animals associated with it: Bear, Duck, Goat, Wolf. For each animal, there is also a number associated with each card, which are the following:
6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J(11), Q(12), K(13), A(14)
so in total, the deck consists of 4 x 9 = 36 cards. More on the rules for what those numbers mean is listed in the following sections.
At the start of the game each player is given 6 random cards to their hands to either attack or defend with.
0.1 TRUMP CARDS
At the start of the first turn, a card is randomly selected from the deck. The selected card (displayed on the left of the battlefield) determines which ANIMAL is chosen for the trump cards. EVERY CARD WITH THIS ANIMAL ON IT IS CONSIDERED A TRUMP CARD. A trump card can beat any other card, even if the number is lower, EXCEPT for other Trump Cards with a higher number.
1. ATTACKING
If you are attacking (indicated by the swooping image and sound), the opponent is defending and your goal is to PREVENT the opponent from defending successfully.
You can click and drag a card into any of the lower 5 card slots. You can attack with multiple cards at once, but ONLY IF THEY HAVE THE SAME NUMBER.
Example: You are attacking and have a bear 7 and a goat 7, so you may attack with both of them by clicking and dragging them into an empty lower card slot.
You can then confirm your attack by pressing the "ATTACK" button to the right of the battlefield.
When the enemy has defended once you can ONLY attack with cards that have the same NUMBERS which are already present on the battlefield.
If the opponent has defended successfully, all cards on the battlefield will be discarded to a separate deck and are out of the game.
If the opponent did NOT defend successfully, e.g. an upper card slot could not be defended, he will take all cards on the battlefield into his hand.
If you can not attack anymore, you can press the "END TURN" button to stop attacking and the roles will be switched.
2. DEFENDING
If you are defending (indicated by the swooping image and sound), the opponent is attacking and your goal is to DEFEND successfully.
The opponent will start attacking you with cards, which will be displayed on the 5 upper card slots. In order to defend from those cards, you need to play one that has the SAME ANIMAL AND A HIGHER NUMBER (see 0. PREPERATION above for reference). You can also choose to defend with a trump card (see 0.1 TRUMP CARDS above), which beats any other card regardless of its number EXCEPT FOR OTHER TRUMP CARDS WITH A HIGHER NUMBER.
Example: The opponent has attacked you with a bear 8 and you have a bear 9, bear 10 and bear J(11) in your hand. You can choose either one of those to defend yourself with, as the number on your cards are higher than the attackers card.
To defend from the opponents attack, drag a viable card into the corresponding lower card slot and press the "DEFEND" button to the right of the battlefield. Make sure that all slots are defended, otherwise you will not defend successfully.
You can defend with any number, but beware: Once you have defended with a number that has not been played on the battlefield yet, the opponent could attack you with a card of that same number.
If you defended successfully, all cards on the battlefield will be discarded to a separate deck and are out of the game.
If you did NOT defend successfully, e.g. a lower card slot could not be defended, you will take all cards on the battlefield into your own hand.
